Harmony Habitats The Alternative Feng Shui Garden

A garden designed on Feng Shui principles but deliberately not oriental in style. The trio of interior designer, Feng Shui expert and garden designer, have been working on various joint projects after a chance meeting on a business course. The inspiration for the garden came to Lisa after watching a Chris Beardshaw-presented programme about the lost gardens of Le Chaire, neglected and overgrown but still beautiful. Lisa says she could sense the five elements of Feng Shui in the garden - Fire, Earth, Metal, Water, Wood - and came to the realisation that this was the type of garden she would want for herself.

The Alternative Feng Shui Garden is a beautiful woodland walk and retreat honoring the principles of Feng Shui in a peaceful and beautifully planted setting. The garden follows a circular format where visitors enter through two dry stone walls, up a gentle gradient, under a spreading canopy specimen tree. A large semi-circular hedge hugs the garden giving a feeling of peace and security to the visitor.
